music with a thead of wild mercury – from rock’n'roll to glitch and back again

The Tofu hut and Polk Miller

Posted by (un)relaxeddad on April 22, 2007

Just discovered the astonishing Tofu Hut, probably the best music blog I’ve encountered ever.    The most recent post is on one Polk Miller, a deeply complex and ambiguous figure of the “The Old South”, and his music with the Old South Quartet.  It’s an immensely sensitive and scholarly (but utterly readable) post with enough linkage to keep you busy for days.  Not to mention a wealth of music.  Then there’s the rest of the site…

What makes the Tofu Hut so great?  Because the writers there are just following their ears, writing about what enthuses them and setting a standard for the rest of us that we can only marvel at.
